The band, consisting of brothers Jeff and Tom Vee,
has been together in one form or another for nearly two decades
touring from Colorado to New York and points in-between. More recently,
as back up band to their father, Bobby Vee, they have traveled throughout
the United States, Australia and Europe working with such legendary
artists as Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard and Bo Diddley.
Rounding out the line up are guitarist Ar J. Stevens and the accomplished
piano talent of Jeff Olsen.
THE
VEES draw from a wide variety of well known material to put together
a high energy rock 'n' roll show that is exciting and original while
being an authentic tribute to the legends of rock 'n' roll and their
music. Their years of experience as recording and performing artists
have resulted in a tight and definitive sound that finds its roots
in the early rockabilly music of people such as Elvis, Buddy Holly,
and Jerry Lee Lewis, but can be as powerful and dynamic as today's
rock 'n' roll music.
Appearing
under the name "BIGGER THAN ED" the band has spent the
last few years recording and shopping their music to national record
labels in addition to maintaining their steady performance schedule.
Their first CD, "Crash Booom Bang It Out," is a combination
of their own material and selected classic rock 'n' roll favorites.
"Moon Dog Dance Party," their second CD, is a rockabilly
treat featuring
the band's original material and select rockabilly treasures including
a tribute to the late, great Carl Perkins. Their latest CD release,
"The Vees, Nashville Sessions 99-01" features all original
material. THE VEES are currently performing for concerts, festivals,
special events and in clubs throughout the country.
